Abstract
THE EFFECT OF SPORTS ON NOMOPHOBIA
Author(s): Canan Bastik Salkim*, Sevgi Bal**, Hayrettin Gumusdag**#, Ercan Karacar***The aim of this study is to compare the effects of individuals who do and do not do sports on nomophobia with various variables. The sample group consists of 359 volunteers in total, 199 women and 160 men who do or do not do sports in Yozgat province in 2021-2022. "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher as a data collection tool in the research, "Nomophobia Scale" developed by Y?ld?r?m and Correira was used. The resulting data was loaded into the SPSS 25.0 program. As a result of the analyzes made; ''Nomophobia Scale'' skewness values are between 0.194/0.129, kurtosis values are between -0.790/0.257. According to these results, it was determined that the data exhibited normal distribution and parametric tests were used in statistical analysis. Post-hoc Tukey and LSD analyzes were performed for the differences detected in the variables of gender, age, monthly income, education level, living environment, duration of doing sports, duration of internet use, purpose of internet use, and internet use tool, which were examined by ANOVA and t-test. As a result of the analyzes made. It has been determined that there are gender differences in the scale of nomophobia and the levels of nomophobia variable was also found to be affected.
