Abstract

THE CONNECTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT WITH LIFE SATISFACTION: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF EDUCATIONAL AND JOB INVOLVEMENT

Author(s): Nadeem Abbas Haider, Asif Ayub Kiyani, Safdar Husain Tahir

Objective: This study researched on psychosocial issue of sexual harassment (SH).This study builds a unique theoretical model to predict Life Satisfaction. Sexual Harassment potentially predicts reduction in Job and Educational Involvement to negatively affect the level of Satisfaction with Life. Methods: This investigation used the method of convenient sampling in order to select 100 respondents from a local university of Islamabad. Addition, the technique of regression analysis is applied to statistically test the quality theoretically established relations amongst considered constructs. Results: The results do not support any theoretical assumption of the model. Sexual Harassment does not predict Educational Involvement (B = 0.105, p > 0.05) and Life Satisfaction (B = 0.045, p > 0.05). Educational Involvement also does not influence Life Satisfaction of the sample (B = 0.161, p > 0.05). Conclusion: The study concludes that Educational and Job Involvement does not activate as a mediating variable for the relation of Sexual Harassment with Life Satisfaction.
